Herr Ott, wherever you are, the Detroit Red Wings need you.
Anyone who had German at Monroe High School remembers Herr Ott writing this in the upper right hand corner of the board every playoff season.
The Wings won two Stanley Cups, thanks to Herr Ott's enthusiasm auf Deutsch. The Red Wings need that same energy tonight.
What has become so dissatisfying over the last several years with the NHL is it is the only sport in which the better team can lose a playoff series. I don’t know why or how it happens, but it does and it is just sickening to watch. Anaheim did not deserve to win games four or five, yet now are up 3-2 in the best of seven series. No other sport allows for this to happen. This is why the NHL has lost its fan base. Not because of the strike.
With that said, Detroit wins 3-1 and forces game seven in Detroit on Thursday.

i suppose if my memory was even just slightly better than a moldy turd, i might remember that.
Nah... the Tiger's lost to a crappier team in the world series last year, so it happens in baseball too. At least, that's how this new season is making it look like. The Cardinal's are horrible.
